Where The Key Actually Goes
The vehicle's own factory key rides inside a sealed module that pairs with the tracker. Geotab engineers Keyless toward roughly 99.9% access reliability (a design goal, not an SLA); after an unlock, about 10 minutes to press start or re-tap.
The sealed-key version is what we specify for municipal motor pools. A key-box version keeps the original key recoverable, commercial fleets only, not offered to North American public sector.
Keyless Lite is a no-additional-fee, Bluetooth-only option inside the driver app: on-demand lock and unlock for equipped vehicles, no reservation system required. It is the honest way to prove keyless works for your crews before you invest in full booking integration.
