Critical Update: Data Purge Policy Begins

To maintain top-notch performance, Geotab is launching a new standard data retention policy:

What’s Changing: Starting May 2025, data older than two years will begin being automatically deleted, with the full rollout completed by end of Q3.
Why It Matters: Holding onto excess data slows down the platform and clutters key reports like HOS logs and Trip History.
What to Expect: A notification will appear in your database before the purge begins, along with a buffer period to review and adjust settings.
Need Custom Retention? Administrators can tailor retention timelines if your business has specific requirements.

Smarter Search in Geotab Ace

Interacting with your data just got easier in Ace:

You can now use the @ symbol to find assets, rules, groups, or zones—no need for exact spellings or manual lookups.
The system intelligently disambiguates your entries, improving accuracy and saving you time.
Available now for users in the US, EU, and Canada with Ace enabled.

Green Fleet Dashboard Sunset

The Green Fleet Dashboard officially retires on April 30, 2025, with its data feed discontinued since March 31. Users should now access the Sustainability Center for the latest eco-performance insights.

New Data Connector Template for Faults

A new BI template has arrived, making vehicle fault diagnostics clearer:

Built to visualize active vs resolved faults, fault types, and duration patterns
Highlights lifecycle logic to identify persistent issues
Offers fleet-wide analytics for smarter maintenance strategies

U-Turn Detection Just Got Better

U-turn tracking now supports a wider range of trucks and street types:

Enhanced detection for heavy and medium-duty trucks
U-turn monitoring frequency increased to every 60 minutes
To enable this, simply add a custom rule using the advanced conditions editor
